According to the assembly method, Galvanized Steel Coil may be divided into hot-dip galvanized Steel Coil  and electro-galvanized Steel Coil .

Hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing not only have different coating formation mechanisms, different production processes, but also different product properties and uses.

 

Hot dip galvanizing could be a method of metal corrosion protection. After pretreatment, the electroplated metal or non-metallic material is immersed in liquid metal zinc, in order that the surface of the steel product adheres to the zinc layer, thereby improving the corrosion resistance of the fabric and improving the performance of the fabric.

 

Cold galvanizing is to make a smooth and dense metal coating by electrolysis to fulfill the wants of the surface of metal and non-metallic products.

 

1. Process

The production process of hot-dip galvanizing is: pre-plating → degreasing → washing → pickling → washing → extrusion → water soluble → drying → galvanizing → cooling → straightening → oiling → packaging.

 

The basic process of electro-galvanizing is as follows: parts pre-plating→degreasing→corrosion→polishing→galvanizing→hydrogen removal→passivation/dyeing.

 

2. Cost

Compared with electro-galvanized steel, hot-dip galvanized steel has the identical corrosion resistance, but the assembly cost of electro-galvanized steel is over that of hot-dip galvanized steel.

 

3.Advantages

Hot-dip galvanized products have the benefits of thick zinc layer, good corrosion resistance, beautiful appearance, favorable for subsequent processing, low cost, and reduced environmental pollution.

Electrogalvanizing has the benefits of excellent formability, good weldability and coating, good surface quality, and doesn't change the mechanical properties of the initial plate during the assembly process.

 

 

The difference between galvanized finished products:

1. The inner and outer walls of hot-dip galvanized steel pipe are galvanized, while the outer wall of cold-dip galvanized steel pipe is merely galvanized;

2. The cold coating is uniform and therefore the thickness is incredibly thin; the new coating is thicker and also the thickness is uneven.

3. the looks of cold plating is bright, and also the color of hot plating is darker.

4. Because the cold coating is thinner, the corrosion resistance is poor; the recent coating is dozens of times thicker than cold galvanizing, and forms an infiltration layer with the bottom metal, which has good corrosion resistance.

5. The surface of the hot-dip galvanized steel pipe looks brighter and smoother; the surface of the hot-dip galvanized steel pipe isn't as delicate and bright because the cold-dip galvanized steel pipe.
